Good day all --
First, why this might be of interest to the group:
POOR tech support from Microsoft for a product bought/paid for/installed
without success. No manual with new product.
The microsoft tech support person I spoke to, at my own expense, had "no
information on my product".

Second, could anyone offer a suggestion:
I purchased a Microsoft 5 button intellimouse optical. Installed the
Intellmouse 3.2 CD on my Windows 98
machine. But I cannot program the two "thumb" (side buttons). I read
through the "Self-support" at microsoft.com and extracted the msmouse.vrd
file but I can't execute it (does anyone know what program will execute a
.vrd file?).

And so I ask, would anyone know how I can make my intellimouse show up when
I click on Mouse in my control panel?

BTW, searched the web for assitance -- lots of great reviews that say these
side buttons are for "easy internet navigation" -- no one is saying how to
accomplish this.

Thank you all very much for assisting.
Nick
