e-mail for intranet

Hi. I'm looking for a good web-based e-mail product for our new Intranet.
I"ve heard some interesting things about IMP (http://www.horde.org/), but
it almost looks like overkill for our project.

Is anyone running an e-mail application on their Intranet that they're
really happy with?

I'd prefer something in the PHP or Perl line, but I'm open to any
suggestions.
