Obits to bytes

Just throwing something else out.  Just another approach to making
electronic paper obits.
Create an index/list of the dead people
Organize obits by date [no need to reorganize for additions names]
Scan into files by date and burn to CD
Index names to dates on CD.
Has anyone taken this approach?
