Web-based office apps

Most libraries probably separate public  access Internet workstations and
public office applications, because of use demands and security issues. Has
any library tried some of the new free web-based office applications?
Examples include:
http://www.thinkfree.com/
http://www.myfreedesk.com/
Do these solve the security and storage issues of public access office apps?
To the point where the added cost of another Internet connection is
outweighed?
