Description:

Immediate opening for a consultant librarian with advanced training in
Library Science.

Successful candidate will be will work in a research and development
environment contracted to a 6 to 12-month project in the world’s
foremost science and technology lab,  IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research
Center, located in Yorktown Heights (Westchester County), NY

The contracted individual will be engaged in a project developing new
technology in a search-related field. This will involve working with a
small team of programmers and librarians.

Requirements for project-based Librarian position:

· MS in Library Science or closely related discipline or BS plus 2 or
more years experience.
· At least 2 years working with web search engines i.e. Yahoo, Lycos,
Google, AltaVista, etc.
· A definite plus is any experience in constructing taxonomies or in
using advanced search technologies.
