Since you asked...  We produce a telnet client called Anzio, which is widely
used in the library community. It will launch successfully from a URL,
including one that contains a username (and even a password). It also
has/does:

* Excellent passthrough print support
* Kiosk mode for public PCs
* Full Unicode, USMARC, CCCII/EACC, and other character set support
* People (us) who do tech support
