(snipped)
There's an evil rumor afoot that the ability to use an automatic
configuration script has been removed in this version (which makes the
browser unusable for certain proxy server setups, e.g., Innovative's WAM
product). (It already appears to be missing in recent Mac versions.)

Can anyone who's already installed IE5.5 on a WinPC confirm/deny?

Thanks,

Bob Duncan

P.S. The IE5.5 download page won't display in my Netscape4.08 (not enough
closing table tags I think). Tough to put the competition out of business
when the competition's users can't get to your product!

IE5.5 seems to work with Novell BorderManager, although it is hard to test
when you're on the network. And the download page wouldn't display in
Netscape4.72, either.

I've also just noticed that IE5.5 doesn't deal with printing a single frame
from a page at all well. As in, it starts from the left and prints one
page worth to the right, even if the frame you're trying to print is the
center one. Good thing it has the Print Preview command now, because I
would have wasted some paper! I may have missed a command or setting
somewhere, but I don't think so.

We just figured out how to print a frame in IE5.5! Right click on the
desired frame, select "Properties," copy the address listed in the
properties tab, paste into the location bar and hit enter. It opens as a
full screen, so you can print. Not elegant, but at least there's a
work-around.
