Applet loading speed???

I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced the following problem.
I'm beta testing a revised intranet entry page containing 2 applets designed
with Open Cube's Applet Composer--one is an "infinite menu" (mouseover
brings up additional menu items), and the other is a standard upward scroll.
Neither are especially large. Both worked just fine when kept in a
hard-drive file, but now they're served from a fairly robust server with
light traffic and loading times are painfully slow (up to two minutes)--but
only on SOME computers. Other computers load the applets within a very few
seconds. Generally, this difference is not based on processor speed. Might
anyone know how to solve the problem, at least short of pulling one of the
applets or buying 200 600+ mhz PC's? Any help would be much appreciated!
