If you were to record a meeting...

As noted by Bob Rasmussen and Leo Robert Klein, there are a couple of
different approaches to creating digital sound files and serving them. One
approach, especially useful if a streaming media server, licensed server
software required, is beyond the immediate budget, is to segment the audio
file. Use the agenda as a guide, then create ~10 minute samples from the
overall tape, with appropriate reference to the topic discussed.

This approach gives the interested party the option of downloading only the
portions of interest, better insight into the nature of the discussion, the
possibility of doing parallel downloads for multiple files, etc.

The original post from Karen Schneider didn't specify whether the object was
audio only or A/V. For A/V, the latest Apple products feature FireWire
ports and video editing software for direct import/export and editing of
digital video recordings.
