Hello!
i am working on a paper and have found a ton of infromation on data
mining (DM) and knowledge discovery (KD). i am familiar with hubat.com and
the SPARKLE algorithm used to create directories of information, Fayyad's
work, Pilot & ACM's publications.
What i am looking for is information on information retrieval systems and
the use of data mining for academic/scholarly databases. i am very
interested in implications of the predictive learning component to
information retrieval (the limitations and benefits). are any of you doing
anything with DM or KD that isnt used for business, marketing or scientific
dbs?

Thanks,
Gail
