Joe Clark who (according to the site) is a "principal" of contenu.nu is a
well-known irascible figure in the web design community.  He's no more a
competition to Nielsen than anyone on this list.  Most recently, I think
he's become interested in content management systems.  In any case, he
might not be the best introduction to an entire cottage industry on this
subject.  For that, you might like to have a read of Steve Champeon's "A
Friend of Paradox and Conservatism".
