[WEB4LIB] Video Capture - I need help

Reiteration and clarification: You don't need to CAPTURE video, if you can
build it all on the PC. You only need to OUTPUT video. While a video capture
card will most likely have video output too, that's overkill. A scan
converter, on the other hand, will convert your standard VGA (or higher?) into
a video signal that is recordable; but that might not give you the quality
that a video capture/output board would, because you'd be trying to squeeze
too many pixels on.

Some other gotchas: 1) video takes LOTS of memory; 2) design your AVI
production from the start for video output; i.e., get the resolution right.

Another approach: If you have a recent Sony PC, or a recent Mac, these have
"Firewire" ports. With these you can go digitally from hard disk to a digital
camcorder, and then convert it from there to standard VHS.

I suspect that desktop video production is right now at the point that desktop
publishing (DTP) was when the Laserjet Plus came out. You'll start to see lots
of work produced because it's possible, but not necessarily well done.
