Network Support Specialist
Paul V. Galvin Library, Illinois Institute of Technology

Within the context of our rapidly expanding network services, this
position plays a key role in facilitating and resolving a variety of
server-side technology issues including hardware and software
installations, support, maintenance, administration, directory services,

remote access and authentication systems, staff training, and systems
planning within an innovative library environment.

Qualifications:  BA or B.S. degree, MLS strongly desired; evidence of
broad general knowledge of information technology and personal
dedication to the provision of quality services;  2-3 years experience
in LANs and wide area networks; NOS experience with NT 4.0; experience
with Windows NT 4.0 desktop operating systems as well as all common
desktop applications (i.e., MS Office); HTML proficiency; exposure to
specialized NT network services such as Proxy 2.0, SQL, IIS, and
Terminal server desired; demonstrated capacity to take appropriate
initiative in pursuit of established goals; evidence of excellent
written and oral communications skills; demonstrated skills in analysis
and planning; evidence of well developed interpersonal skills.
Microsoft certification (MCSE) preferred but not required.
