ANNOUNCEMENT: New OCLC Institute Seminar

Dear Readers,

Registration is still open for the new Knowledge Access Management for
Reference Librarians Seminar offered May 10-12, 1999 at the OCLC Institute
campus in Dublin, OH.

This intensive 2.5 day seminar examines key issues in knowledge management
from the perspective of the reference librarian.  The focus is on current
and emerging methods of knowledge access and user service in catalog
management.

Developed by Martin Dillon, the OCLC Institute Executive Director, this
seminar utilizes a plenary exercise in critical analysis to help focus on
current reference models and their future as well as demonstrations of
various systems and tools to provide a technical application overview.

In addition, facilitated small-group discussions and group reports take up
trend analysis, action planning and consensus building for the desired
future.

The OCLC Institute welcomes all heads of reference, reference and public
service librarians, solo librarians and anyone interested in developing a
holistic view of library operations.

Register by Friday, March 26 to receive the early-bird discount price of
$445.00 (OCLC members) or $500.00 (non-members).  After March 26 the cost is
$495.00 for OCLC members and $550.00 for non-members.  Cut-off for
registrations is April 19, 1999.
