Domain name "propagation"

Most books on TCP/IP and the Internet cover the domain name system. One
clasic work that devotes a well-written chapter to DNS is Douglas Comer,
Internetworking with TCP/IP, Volume I, 2nd Ed. Prentise-Hall, 1991.

W. Richard Stevens is often recommended as another author who covers
TCP/IP internals including the DNS. I haven't looked at his books
recently, though, so can't say if the DNS coverage would meet your needs.

The DNS hasn't changed very much in a decade (except for negative
caching), so a book dated 1991 is still mostly accurate. But I'd be
surprised if there weren't more recent works that covered the material
with more of a web and modern-commercial-Internet focus. Anybody have a
recent literature review?
