[WEB4LIB] Free stuff for websites?

Hi, Bill --

I'd love to see a collaborative effort on such a list, because
I have been trying to create one myself for quite a while but I just
haven't had the time. Ideally I want to give our member libraries a
standard set of links that they can use to "localize" content for their
Web sites (for public libraries in particular, but for all libraries in
general). This would help flesh out their sites without adding much of
a workload.
It's also an ideal topic for our community network
(NorthStarNet, http://www.northstarnet.org/), so last year I began a
list, but didn't get much further than that. The few things we noted
at an internal meeting of Web authors can be found at
http://www.sls.lib.il.us/infotech/toolkit/swac/1998/april.html,
but I'd love to hear suggestions from others. Already I need to add
that list the Internet Traffic and Weather Reports, science
headlines from http://www.explorezone.com, and some of the stuff from
http://kresch.com/resources/Content/.
Although I realize much of this doesn't apply in an academic
setting, I thought I would post this response in the hope of hearing
about similar services from others (for any type of library).
