Linkbot sounds great - but I was wondering - I have HomeSite 4.0 - is this
feature "orphans" included in that?  I have not found it there.
And to inform you about my OS: it is Windows 95 -  NT.

Yes, there is. Use Linkbot to tell you all the problems you might have
on your site. It has a feature called "orphans" in which it compares
between the files on your site and the files on your directory. You can
download it from your nearest TUCOWS mirror.
