AUTOMATION SERVICES LIBRARIAN/INSTRUCTOR


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: ALA accredited Master's degree with major emphasis in Library Science with studies in automation, computer science, and library systems. Two years library/research experience with some experience in library systems/technology. Knowledge of circulation, acquisitions, serials, cataloging, media distribution, MARC records and various operating systems. Current personal computer hardware and software knowledge, including LAN software. Ability to supervise and conduct training. Effective communication skills and service orientation.

SALARY: $43,350 per 12 months, plus benefits. CONTRACT STATUS: Full time, tenure track. 
SPECIAL WORKING HOURS: Some weekends and evenings.
TRAVEL: Between campuses.
START DATE: June 15, 1999.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for DMCNet: the operation, evaluation, maintenance and upgrading of DRA library automation system; supervision of library's automation staff and services, including Reference Computer Centers and Student Technology Centers in libraries on two campuses; computer skills training for library staff and student users; and participation in collection development program with other librarians. Perform other related duties as assigned.
