What's New on the Berkeley Digital Library SunSITE

The following new collections and services have been added to the UC
Berkeley Digital Library SunSITE (http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/) since my
last What's New message in September 1997. Since I do not include
additions to existing services and collections in this list, there has
been a great deal more added to the server than this list reflects. Come
see us to find out.

The content isn't the only thing that has changed. We recently upgraded to
a new Sun Enterprise 3500 with 2 128-bit UltraSparc CPUs, 1GB RAM, and a
configurable disk array, thanks to the work of Mark Barone. The machine
smokes, so if you experience any delays it isn't likely to be due to our
hardware. We also took the opportunity to upgrade our base Web server to
Apache 1.3.3, performed by Nancy Lin.

There are many people involved with creating and maintaining these
resources, both here at UC Berkeley and elsewhere around the world.
Without their work there would be precious little to announce. If you want
to join them, let me know.
