I think I may have been unclear.  The feature allows you to configure your development environment so that certain functions (like the IE specific marquee or DHTML) are not available when you create your pages.  It doesn't make the pages or any part of the Web site test for browser compatibility.  It just removes the ability to use a component/function that is NOT going to work in the browser environment in which you operate.  If you are creating an Intranet, then you may want to have everything for just IE browsers, whereas with an Internet site, you want to take into account some level of both Netscape and IE, and perhaps others.  FP2000 allows you to specify the baseline for the environment in which you are working.

Sorry if I gave the impression it was something more nefarious.
