The Cline Library at Northern Arizona University invites applications for:  
Electronic Initiatives Librarian. The Electronic Initiatives Librarian is a
member of  a 5 FTE unit responsible for design, development, and  production of
digital information and on-line library services. Assumes primary  responsible
for the continuous design improvements of the Library’s web site.  Assesses
student success and self-sufficiency in using the web site. Works closely with
Library personnel in formulating and executing a variety of electronic
initiatives that enhance access to  library services and resources in a
web-based environment. Serves as liaison with other University IT  personnel
who are also developing on-line resources and services. Investigates, tests,
and applies new technologies that enhance the Library’s digital information and
services. Supervises one Library Specialist, may supervise students and interns
in performing special projects. In addition to active participation in Library
and University committees and working groups, serves as a subject specialist
which includes resource selection and faculty liaison responsibilities.  


Minimum Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS and minimum one year library
experience preferred;  other combinations of  graduate education and
appropriate experience will be seriously considered.  Significant experience in
web design and production.  Demonstrated skill in the use of web-authoring
tools, scripting and mark-up language. Evidence of creative application of
innovative technologies. Familiarity with Windows NT and demonstrated skill
with Unix.  Project management experience with record of successful project
completion.  Knowledge of current and emerging trends in libraries, higher
education, and distance education. Strong interest in leading research and
development efforts related to interactive computing and the integration of
text, graphics, audio, and video sources in a digital library environment. 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a diverse workplace and a
multi-cultural learning environment.  Evidence of flexibility and enjoyment of
collaborative endeavors.  

Salary range beginning at $34,000.  The closing date for receipt of
