The Document Retrieval Scavenger Hunt:  The Legal Researcher's 
Guide to Locating Non-Legal Materials
Numerous resources are now available to assist researchers in 
obtaining hard to find legal, non-legal and technical documents. 
Cindy L. Chick reviews a number of these electronic finding aids, 
including online library catalogs, directories and fee-based 
research technical libraries and document services.

In this month's ResearchWire, Diana Botluk reviews the
new Lexis-Nexis service, Legislative Links. The service provides
information for federal legislation beginning with the 105th 
Congress.  
                     
In Guide on the Side, Marie Wallace discusses how
speakers must "expect the unexpected" when making a presentation. 
She suggests quick and easy ways to respond positively to 
unforeseen and uncontrollable situations.

Product Review: SurfSaver
Susan Charkes gives a thumbs-up to the AskSam utility that allows
users to save entire Web sites for use and display at a later date.

Product Review:  Filamentality 2.0
Linda Woods Hyman reviews this fill-in-the-blanks interactive Web
site from the Pacific Bell Fellows.  It is a new kind of teaching 
tool to assist you with organizing and searching Web content using a 
flexible and powerful presentation model.

In Margaret Berkland's new installment of Links in the
News, bibliophiles will find a source for online reviews of current 
fiction and non-fiction titles; a site devoted to copyright presented 
by lawyers for the Univ. of Texas; links to environmental laws a
round the world; a site with 4,000 links to legal websites in 40 
countries, and several foreign law sites with significant links to 
constitutions, statutes, case law, and more.  

On the Newsstand has links to recent articles of
interest to regular Web researchers, including: the recent 
complications concerning control of the Internet by a non-profit 
board; accessing the Web via e-mail; Web portals; legislation 
concerning  spam; ways to protect your privacy on the Web; and a 
peek at the new IE5. 

LLRXalerts highlights the new utility, Infoseek Express, that
permits searching several engines automatically. Also, the House
Committee on Agriculture has announced its entrance into the 
digital age, as it will be first Congressional panel to broadcast 
proceedings on the Web using live audio.
