With Anzio, you can activate the following
   telnet://GUEST@uhlan.uhls.lib.ny.us
and get right there. The above is a lesser-known, but standardized, form of
the telnet URL, and can even include a password, as
   telnet://username:password@hostname:port
Anzio's Login Wizard takes it apart, watches for various username and password
prompts, and handles it all automatically.
