One option might be to look at Netscape's DDE support. If you have a
program launch Netscape that can handle DDE it could probably close down
any extra windows that are opened. We used DDE briefly to redirect requests
for certain pages on the web to an alternative site and it seemed to be
very powerful. We used ScriptEase, but other programs like winbatch, flute,
and visual basic could also be candidates. Netscape's DDE support is
