With MacOS 8 Internet data detectors ANY text you highlight in ANY
application can throw up a menu to -

Connect to a URL via your choice of browsers if you have more than one
Create a bookmark in your choice of browsers if you have more than one
Telnet to the host in the URL
Start an email message in your choice of email client if an email
                address is in the text.

In effect Apple has already integrated the internet into its OS AND into
applications provided by other vendors.
