Scandisk frozen

I've run into trouble with scandisk and defrag on two public Internet Win95
computers. Basically both programs freeze almost immediately. Both utilities
have been running fine on these computers for some time now. Unless one of
our patrons has made some changes, the only thing new on these computers is
the addition of Historian software. Has anybody else run into this problem
with Fortres' Historian? Scandisk runs fine from the DOS prompt.
