Position Description:

A new position for a Webmaster is available with the Rutgers University
Libraries in New Brunswick, NJ.  Reporting to an associate university
librarian, the webmaster is responsible for the coordination of the
libraries presentation on the Internet.  Creates and modifies the
libraries' web pages and links.  Develops HTML, CGI, Perl, Java, and
JavaScript software to enable access to networked electronic information. 
Maintains system security.  Participates in committees and in developing
standards and policies.  Prepares training materials and provides support
to faculty and staff in developing web pages.  Provides information about
library services, personnel, and facilities.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of experience creating and
maintaining an interactive World Wide Web site.  Fluency with HTML,
JavaScript, Perl, and CGI scripting, and knowledge of Java, UNIX system
programming, cascading style sheets, and software for the creation and
modification of digital images are necessary.  Requires effective oral,
written, and interpersonal communication skills.  Experience in academic
libraries and knowledge of library services and processes are preferred.

Starting Salary:  $42,466-56,892 commensurate with experience
