Adobe pdf ifilter for Microsoft index server

Hi

Has anybody managed to get Adobe's ifilter for pdf files working on 
Microsoft Index Server. 
I have tried both version 1 and 1.1 beta and followed all the 
guidelines but it still isn't indexing the text of pdf files, or the 
title, creator, etc. info. The only thing I can find .pdf files on is the filename!
P.S.
I know there are better search engines out there but index server is 
the one we are stuck with for various reasons.
