Teaching Charlie, Esq. to Surf
Kenneth Johnson, Information Services Project Leader at
Mayer, Brown and Platt in Chicago, shares the details of
the Web training program created in collaboration with
the firm's library. Their straight-forward program targets
specific Internet resources and services, and integrates the
value added content of the Custom Library Pages. As
many law firms are now releasing desktop Internet access to
their attorneys, a well designed training program is an
essential component of a successful implementation.

It's the Content Stupid - A real life analysis of
Microsoft and 21st century society, or why the DOJ doesn't
get it Charles Kafoure's perspective concerning the ongoing
battle between the DOJ and Microsoft offers alot of food
for thought. Whether you agree or disagree with his position,
it is a well documented argument that takes into
consideration the evolution of computing, and the techno-
logical changes that have significantly impacted our workplace,
leisure time, and knowledge resources.

Expanding the Solo Practitioner or Small Firm Resources with
the Internet - For those practitioners who do not have the
benefit of an onsite research services department, Michelle
Ayers recommends Internet related services whose focus
includes areas ranging from research, to marketing and CLE.

department's mission, goals, agenda? In this month's Guide
on the Side, Marie Wallace explains why you should possess
this skill, and how to leverage it to your advantage.

online versions of the tables of contents of 750+ law reviews
and scholarly journals related to the law; a site for
