The last issue of Wired also has a rather long article on eletronic 
books.  Given the standards of Wired, it is an excellent article.

(On the other hand, Wired seems to be getting a bit better, there was 
also an excellent article on megaprojects by Bruce Sterling in the 
same issue.  Of course, it was more literary journalism than true 
journalism in the case of Sterling, so another set of criteria were 
involved)

The article on the same 3 digital books that are slated to come out 
in fall differs from what you have quoted in that Rocketbook is said 
to have backing from Bertelsman and Barnes and Noble, while the 
corporate backers of the others are not mentioned.
