Migration from WebSTAR on Mac to MIIS on NT

   Hi! I just moved mine, not quite as radically as you will be, from NetScape 
   Enterprise Server v3 to Microsoft IIS v4. Since we were not yet doing 
   anything that was server specific, it was relatively easy.
   
   Most important was backing up onto our LAN server, the web page data. Next, 
   I went through the existing server configuration data and printed each page 
   to have when configuring the new server.
   
   I haven't spent a lot of time trying to figure out the problems, but 
   NetScape Gold (v3) doesn't seem to work correctly with IIS (v4) for 
   publishing files. I took this as an opportunity to stop using NS Gold, 
   especially good since it mucks with the HTML, and moved my people to using 
   an FTP utility.
      Security permissions for allowing write access are not kept in the IIS 
   web server, but in the ftp server. I would also not install the FrontPage 
   extensions, unless you are going to be using it.

I am in the process of moving our web server from a Mac to the NT platform.  On 
the Mac we have been using WebSTAR and on the NT we will be using MIIS.  Have 
any of you had such an experience in moving a server?  Any suggestions for a 
first-timer?
