distributed to numerous mailing lists, newsgroups and discussion groups //

Northwestern University Libraries have changed their Online Public Access
Catalog (OPAC) from the mainframe-based NOTIS system to the client/server
system Voyager.

We ask that you please correct bookmarks, software settings and other links
and access points to accomodate this new system. If applicable, please
forward this information on to the person responsible for maintaining
information on your web site and other remote access systems.

It is important to note that we no longer have tn3270 access to our OPAC.
Any link with the URL <tn3270://library.ucc.nwu.edu/> should be changed to
point to either the NUcat telnet or NUcatWeb access URLs shown below.

You can find more information about Northwestern's Voyager system at:
<http://www.library.nwu.edu/voyager/>

You can find more information about access to NUcat:
<http://www.library.nwu.edu/nucat/>

Web-based access to NUcat (NUcatWeb): <http://nucat.library.nwu.edu/>
Note: NUcatWeb works best with newer browsers such as Netscape Navigator
4.x and Internet Explorer 4.x.

Telnet-based access to NUcat: <telnet://nucat.library.nwu.edu>
The login and password for the telnet access is 'nusearch'
(without quotes). The fully qualified URL is:
<telnet://nusearch:nusearch@nucat.library.nwu.edu>

There will be information forthcoming relating to Z39.50 client access to
NUcat. This information will eventually be linked from the Northwestern
Voyager site at the URL shown above.
