Catalog Librarian 

Liberty University seeks an innovative cataloger to assist in the
integration of its OPAC and Internet-based information.
 
Duties: Management of cataloging operations; original cataloging of
monographs, nonbook materials, and electronic resources; supervision of
processing staff, some subject liaison responsibilities, including
collection development and bibliographic instruction; participation in
library policy formulation; campus committees, and professional service.
Reports to Technical Services Librarian. 

Required: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school; comprehensive
knowledge of LC classification and subject headings, AACR2 and MARC
formats, and OCLC bibliographic utility. Knowledge of current trends in
cataloging, particularly those related to integrating electronic resources
and Internet-based resources. 

Desirable: Supervisory experience; some post-MLS cataloging experience;
familiarity with integrated systems, especially Dynix; and reference
experience. 

Salary: Compensation for the position is competitive and commensurate with
experience.

sciences, business, communications, counseling, education, and theology.
