Networking CD-ROMs and Winframe

At our Library we are using the Citrix Winframe system to allow
remote access to our CD-ROM's, which are mostly electronic medical texts
with a couple of journal databases. The users must register (for our
own records) and download the ica file from our server. This is a plug-in for
their browser. It is available for Windows 3.1 or Windows 95, but no Mac
version yet. Also it will not handle multimedia, such as video or sound.
It is all working fine but we are still testing metering
software to control the number of simultaneous users. We have tried
Express Meter, Key Server, and Site Meter, but have not been successful
in getting these products to work with the browser version. Our Winframe
system has a maximum capacity of 20 simultaneous users, but this can be
expanded.
Our users can get to the CD-ROM's from our Web page
http://library.utmb.edu/infosrc.htm.
