Job Title:  PC Technician

Memorial Hall Library is the town library for Andover, Massachusetts.  The
Library currently has 32 personal computers, about half of which are linked
in a Local Area Network.  The library has public graphical access to the
Internet on four computers, as well as multiple CD-ROM workstations.
Andover has received the contract to provide Regional reference and ILL
services to libraries in the Northeast area of Massachusetts and is working
on web-based solutions to providing enhanced reference and ILL services to
all types of libraries in the new Region. 

Job Description:  Maintains the library's personal computers, both
administrative and public, including hardware, software, and LAN-based
activities.  Performs installation and some upgrading of hardware, including
peripherals. Installs and updates reference-based, administrative, and
security software.  Trains staff in the use of personal computers.
Troubleshoots for the public as needed.

Skills and Training:  Requires DOS and Windows 95 expertise, with a minimum
of two years daily hands-on experience as a computer technician.  LAN and
web skills a plus.  Requires good customer service skills.

Hours:  20 hours/week.  Generally 9am - 1pm. Occasional pm or weekend hours.
Possibility of full-time position. 

Compensation:  $15.65/hour.  Includes full benefit package.
