I would like to invite you to a demonstration of the Neal-Schuman WebMas=
ter,
a unique new Web-enabled CD-ROM and book package that will help you to
quickly and inexpensively create your own library Web site -- or improve =
your
existing one--during the ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.=20

Demonstration sessions will take place in conference room 102 of the San
Francisco Convention Center:

Sunday, June 29th from 12:30 pm -1:15 pm

Monday, June 30th from 11:30 am -12:15 pm

The Neal-Schuman WebMaster is designed to help you bypass the common
obstacles to effective Web site development -- art and design expenses,
countless hours of staff time, and numerous frustrating glitches. The
Web-enabled CD-ROM takes you directly to many of the best resources on th=
e
Internet and offers a training section showing staff how to navigate the =
Net
and teach the basics to others. It includes a wide range of icons,
templates, and home page designs that can be downloaded for your use
(including calendars of events, departments and services, and searchable
resources), over 50 patron Net tutorials to add to your site, a selection=
 of
the best library policies for acceptable Internet and computer use that c=
an
be adapted to meet your library=92s needs, tips on security for library f=
iles,
and other time-saving shortcuts. =20

There is also an intellectual freedom section discussing many of the pres=
sing
issues developing around Internet access in public and school libraries, =
as
well as a resources section describing and connecting you to all of the
Web-based sites referred to in the kit.

The demo sessions will be presented by the WebMaster=92s developers, Lisa
Champelli, Children=92s Librarian at Monroe County Public Library in
Bloomington, Indiana and creator of The Internet Advocate, a Web-based
resource guide for librarians and educators, and Howard Rosenbaum, a
professor of LIS at Indiana University who teaches in the areas of
information networking and electronic commerce. These veteran Internet
trainers will be happy to answer questions you=20
have about the Neal-Schuman WebMaster or any other questions you might ha=
ve
about HTML, Web page design, and Internet access.

If you are unable to attend these sessions, but want to know more about t=
he
Neal-Schuman WebMaster, please stop by the Neal-Schuman booth (#915) at A=
LA.
The kit will be available for purchase at the booth for the special
conference price of $140, a savings of $35 off the regular price of $175.=
