I just tried:
http://www.barnesandnoble.com

using the new Lynx for Win32.  Barnes and Noble's server gave me a
session id.  I then tried it on our VAX using Lynx 2.4.  It didn't work.

It looks as though it depends on the version of Lynx you use.  The
latestrelease is 2.7.1.
