Filtering: Push vs. Pull

Another angle on the filtering issue...

Right now WWW operates based on the fact of "Pull" technology
(i.e. users "pull" what they want/need off of the WWW) --

What happens when technology moves into the "Push" mode 
(i.e. companies "push" the information into users' computers
as soon as the company site is visited)???

It seems to me that some sort of filtering will become
necessary at some point in time!
