POSITION TITLE: OUTREACH LIBRARIAN

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provides and develops services for external 
users (distance education students, Library web page users, and faculty 
and students outside the library); works closely with the Instruction
Librarian 
to provide a significant number of B.I. sessions, especially those using 
electronic information resources; coordinates development and maintenance 
of the Library web site as a resource; serves as the Library's contact 
person for Distance Education program; serves as back-up to the Electronic 
Resources Librarian; assists with reference desk services and library 
handouts; participates in collection development, collegial governance, 
library committees and campus prof. activities.  9-month tenure track 
faculty position.  A subject masters is required for tenure.

REQUIRED: ALA-accredited MLS; 2 yrs. post-MLS professional library 
experience; experience in library instruction especially in the use of
electronic
resources; strong communication skills. 

PREFERRED: Web publishing experience; distance education experience;
familiarity with microcomputer hardware and software. 

SALARY (Academic Year): $36,000 with the possibility of partical summer
appointment.  Excellent benefits package.

STARTING DATE: Fall Semester
