using frames

I went to a lecture a few months ago given by Ted Nelson , proclaimed 
"Inventor of the concept of hypertext". (See http://xanadu.net/xanadu/)
According to Ted, one of the original concepts of hypertext was to start at 
 a document and pop open one of its references, all the while keeping the 
original document open...well, how else could you benefit from the link 
contextually?  So, IMO, frames do try to hold a concept of seeing the parent 
and child documents.

Yes, too bad our screens are so small.
