Does anyone have any comment on the <content> of the article that was
distributed concerning the resignation of San Francisco's director?

Does anyone feel that the director should have resigned? Was he doing a
good job? Was he too concerned with technology? Was it the loss of books,
the switchover to an electronic catalog and the public outcry, the debt, or
a combination of any or all of these that caused his departure?

Would anyone vote for this fellow to head the ALA? Is there such a thing as
"abandoning the goals of the library for technology?" Does anyone have any
comments about the balance?
