In life, we rarely get time to do everything. Our priorities are
telling. Whenever I hear a ruckus involving a person or
organization making serious effort to make the Internet safe for
the rest of us, I have these questions:

Where do we spend our time? Do we worry about blocking the
Internet, or do we worry about providing access? Are we
placating small segments of the population over non-issues, or are
we trying to pull T-1 lines into poor city libraries? Are we buying
blocking software, or new computers for city schools? If we claim
we are doing it "all," what is the locus of our energy?

Do we boast of what we have denied, or of what we have
offered? What will we be remembered for? How would you
want to be remembered?
