Printing from pine

This has a lot to do with the software you are using to telnet. I'm using
SmartTerm 420 and it does print using the 'y' command, but only to an
ATTACHED printer. It doesn't seem to want to do it to a networked printer
that is not directly attached to your PC.

I also know that most versions of ProComm (especially the Win 3.1 version
1 of the program) also worked with the 'y' command.

You may want to try some telnet packages to see if others work or I think
someone else has already suggested cutting and pasting your e-mail to a
word-processor and then printing.
