MSIE 3.0 woes

I usually find that this problem occurs when its an downloading from an FTP
site.  I believe that the message occurs because of several things.
	1. The FTP site is full.
	2. IE 3 has sent a bad stream a data for logging into the site.
	3. Our it failed to log in anonymously.  
I agree the error message is extremely vague.

         I'm running MSIE 3.0 under Win95.  When I try to download
         files (e.g., a zip file from jumbo.com) the attempt fails and
         the message says that the server has returned extended
         information.  I've never seen this with Netscape 3.0.  Is
         this some sort of security setting that I need to change?
