Video Warehousing

I am investigating possible video management systems for use in a distance
learning project.  I am wondering if anyone on the list has had experience
with digital video archives that can be plugged into a network?  Ideally, I
would like to be able to store video data, then retrieve it and broadcast
it to remote students.  Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.
