The scout-report mailing list is a service of InterNIC Net Scout Services
housed at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

The Scout Report, offered in either plain text or HTML "mark-up", is a
weekly publication offered as a fast, convenient way to stay informed of
valuable resources on the Internet. Its purpose is to combine in one place
announcements of the best new and newly discovered Internet resources,
especially those of interest to researchers and educators, the InterNIC's
primary audience.

Care is taken in the selection of items included in the Scout Report.
Basic criteria include depth of content, author, information maintenance,
and presentation.

The scout-report and scout-report-html mailing lists are not discussion
lists. Each is a moderated distribution list used only by the Info Scout to
distribute the plain text or HTML version of the Scout Report once a week.
As a subscriber you will automatically receive the Scout Report every
7 days. This is the only traffic you will receive from this list.

Included below are instructions for subscribing yo this mailing list,
and accessing the Scout Report via Web, gopher, and FTP.
