Is "www" desirable in web site URL?

Yes, very nice! And, if it's a .com domain, all you need to enter is the "name."
For example, if you want to get to www.yahoo.com, just type yahoo in your
location bar and hit enter. I think it was programmer short-cut and they
left it in.
        This works in Navigator, I don't know about IE.
        Once again, the www is the industry standard. Go ahead and use it.
