Collaborative Solutions to Technostress: Librarians Lead the Way

                        Monday, July 8th, 1996
                         9:30 am to 12:30 pm
ALA Annual Conference Program - New York City

Stressed out???!!! You're not alone. Instruction librarians in
all types of libraries need to initiate collaborative connections
to reduce technostress in their home libraries. Author Hal
Clement will open the discussion with an examination of possible
futures for information, learning, and knowledge. Dr. Richard Hudiburg,
Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of North Alabama will
examine the impact of technological change, the symptoms of technostress,
and practical techniques to detect, manage, and avoid technostress. And
librarians from a variety of libraries will react with insights based
on how they have taken a proactive leadership role in collaborative efforts
to use new technologies to provide instructional services.

Jointly sponsored by the The ACRL Instruction Section, the Library
Instruction Round Table Association, the ALA New Members Round Table.
