Browser reading nonexistent code

When marking up documents in HTML, one must be sure that for every opening
tag there is a closing one. This applies also to the quotation marks that
enclose links. I experienced that blinking/missing-text problem and was
stymied until I discovered that I had neglected to put a closing quotation
mark after an URL in an HREF. Hope this saves you a lot of retyping.
