Automating CGI logons - possible solution

Our library wrote a telnet "gateway" in C. It checks for the IP
address and allows/disallows based on the IP address. This is run
as a CGI program from a Web page and only works for Telnet sessions.
It passes the data transparently.

One reason to do this in C instead of Perl is that the Perl script
needs to be world readable. So someone might just read the script
and grab the login/password. Compiled C code makes it a little more
difficult.

If anyone wants more info or the code send me (not the list) a request.

(This offer good only for educational and govt. institutions. Sorry,
that's what the lawyers tell me.)
